According to him, in March 2020, Okowa made the promise to more than 4,500 youths of Delta, while hosting the maiden edition of the ‘Talent Development Summit’.

He said that the aim of the 2021 summit was to revive and stimulate the entertainment and talent industry in the state.

“The summit will educate the youths on how to use their talents to generate revenue, while also creating a business from their passion.”

He said that Okowa was determined to bequeath a vibrant post-oil economy to the next generation and to stimulate the entertainment and talent industry in Delta.

“It will help the state to become a revenue generator and contributor to the local economy.’’

Ogude said that talents in music, comedy, movie production, fashion, arts and the creative industry among others would be harnessed to become economic enablers.

He said that this necessitated the decision to focus the second edition of the talent summit on the economy.

“Last year’s summit had in attendance resource persons such as Richard Mofe Damijo, Bovi, Alibaba, Omawumi, Hon. Morris Idiovwa, Tara Fela Durotoye among others.

“This year, the state government is set to bring representatives from content distribution and telecommunication giants such as Netflix, Google, Boomplay, Now Music, MTN Nigeria, Top Celebrities, Globacom Ltd. among others,” he said.
