Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Governor of Adamawa has blasted members of All Progressive Congress in the state, describing them as mere noise makers rather than an opposition.

The governor was elected under the platform of People's Democratic Party, PDP in 2019 after defeating Jibrilla Bindow, who was a sitting governor of the state elected on the platform of the APC.

The governor accused the APC of allegedly questioning and criticizing projects being executed by his government, particularly the ongoing flyover construction in Yola, among others.

Reacting to the criticism on Wednesday, the governor said those criticizing his administration cannot be called opposition because ‘the state has no opposition but noise makers.’

The governor in a statement by his spokesman, Muhammad B. Tukur, explained that criticism by the APC members is baseless since they were given opportunity to govern the state but ‘they were unable to take advantage of it.

'They didn't even look at this state to see what they could find. We've been here for less than three years, and people can see actual and significant developments on the ground,' the governor said.

While inspecting the ongoing flyover construction, which according to him, is at 90% completion, and hopefully to be ready for commissioning before next year, he said he will build another one before the end of his tenure.

At the project site, he praised the work's quality and progress, promising that his administration will continue to provide purposeful leadership for the betterment of the people's lives.

'The entire job is amazing and fantastic, and our employees are delighted with it.

'By fulfilling our mandate along the road, we will continue to provide such edifice that would ease the lives of the people,' he added.
