Katsina State Police Command has confirmed attacks on communities in Batsari Local Government.
SP. Gambo Isah, spokesman of police in the state in a statement on Wednesday afternoon said, 11 people were killed and 13 people were injured, attributing responsibility to bandits.
'Yesterday, 9 November 2021, at about 1915hrs, bandits in their numbers, shooting sporadically with AK 47 rifles, attacked Katoge and Yanturaku quarters of Batsari Local Government, killed eleven and injured thirteen persons,' he said.
In the statement, he said police personnel have been mobilized to the area to restore peace and order.
'The commissioner of police, Katsina State Command has deployed the deputy commissioner of police in charge of operations, with additional units of PMF personnel to the area to beef up security and restore confidence on the affected communities,' SP Isah added.
YERWA EXPRESS NEWS has earlier reported the attacks, where, relying on sources in the state, it reported that seven people were killed.
The police in its presser reported four more, making the total number of casualties to 11.
