Fintiri gifts traditional leaders with cars

Ahmadu Adamu Fintiri, Governor of Adamawa has donated five Land Cruiser Jeeps and five Hilux to traditional rulers in the state.

In a statement published on the official Facebook page of the state, the governor said the vehicles are to provide logistics for strategizing, planning and coordinating affairs of the rulers.

He explained that the donation was owing to how his administration regards traditional institution as the ‘real custodian of the chiefdoms.

‘It is the responsibility of the government to carry them along to tap (from) their wealth of experience,’ the governor said.

Speaking on behalf of Emirs, Abubakar Ahmadu, the Emir of Mubi, who represented Alhaji Dr. Muhammad Barkindo Mustafa, Lamido of Adamawa, expressed gratitude to the governor for the donation and his concern towards their affairs.

He gave assurances to the governor for their support towards successes of his administration and for the judicious use of the vehicles.

The statement added that the vehicles were presented to the first-class Emirs and other chiefs at government house in Yola, capital of the state.
