48 first class graduates get automatic employment in Taraba

First class graduates of Taraba State University, numbering 48 were awarded direct employment by the state government.

Darius Ishaku Dickson, governor of the state, announced the offer during the institution’s combined 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th convocation ceremony in Jalingo, capital of the state, a release by Nelson C. Len, the governor’s spokesman on new media on Sunday said.

At the convocation, 8, 440 students graduated, among which 49 bagged first class, 2, 416 got second class upper division and 3, 983, second class lower division. Similarly, 790 got third class and 20 with pass.

The university also graduated 106 with post-graduate diploma, 311 masters’ degrees and 1 PhD.

According to Mr. Len, the governor said the appointment is to appreciate the graduands for making their parents, the university and the state proud.

The governor also expressed happiness over the rate at which the university is going, adding that education-wise, he is confident they can compete among top universities in the nation.
