At least 24 people were killed by unknown gunmen in Igabi Local Government of Kaduna State.

The gunmen attacked Sabon Birnin village on Monday night where seven members of the same family were killed by the terrorists.

Samuel Aruwan, the state commissioner of internal security and home affairs while confirming the incident to Channels Television said the security agencies are working hard to contain the attacks and also get an update on the number of casualties.

According to locals, the bandits stormed the local government on Monday night in large number and started shooting sporadically, killing the seven family members in the process.

According to a resident of the community, the attacks were carried out simultaneously in the villages.

As at the time of filling this report, effort to reach police to comment on the incident proved abortive.
