A former Minister of Special Duties, Mr Kabiru Tanimu Turaki has called on all Nigerians to contribute their quotas to develop the nation in 2022.

In a message to Nigerians to usher in 2022, Turaki said that national growth must begin with development of communities, with citizens making efforts in their immediate environments.

Turaki also called on Nigerians to embrace peace, unity and godliness in the new year.

He called on leaders at all levels to work toward ensuring that every Nigerian would have access to basic amenities.

“As we begin a new year, despite economic and security challenges, I am optimistic that Nigeria will be great,” he said

Turaki said that Nigerians should look inwards at how best they could serve the nation and their communities as private citizens.

“This is a time when those who are able to, in their own capacities, must ask: What can I do to make Nigeria better? How can I improve lives in my community?

“It is only by taking this conscious and intentional approach that we can plug the numerous gaps that currently exist.

“When we rise up as our brother’s and sister’s keepers, we too can help to stem the tide of hardship that is affecting millions of lives around the nation,” he said.

He prayed God to give all Nigerians the strength and means to serve the nation and improve communities in 2022.

Appeal for support

Conflict Reporting is dangerous and risky. Our reporters constantly face life-threatening challenges, sometimes surviving ambushes, kidnap attempts and attacks by the whiskers as they travel and go into communities to get authentic and firsthand information. But we dare it every day, nonetheless, in order to keep you informed of the true situation of the victims, the trends in the conflicts and ultimately help in peace building processes. But these come at huge cost to us. We are therefore appealing to you to help our cause by donating to us through any of the following means. You can also donate working tools, which are even more primary to our work. We thank you sincerely as you help our cause.
