A fortnight after a fire outbreak razed down parts of Muna Al-Barnawi Internally Displaced Persons Camp in Maiduguri, another incident has just been reported.

A source at the scene, identified as Ibrahim Gaji, told our correspondent that the incident occurred today around 12: 43 pm.

YERWA EXPRESS NEWS learnt that the fire has already been put out at about 1.30 pm by the Borno State Fire Service.

The cause has not yet been established, as preliminary investigations are still ongoing.

There is also no human casualty reported yet, but thatch-made tents were reported burnt.

The incident two weeks ago caused the burning of over 3, 000 shelters.

Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum was at the camp afterwards, where he directed the State Management Agency SEMA to assess their critical needs and promised them urgent interventions.

Conflict Reporting is dangerous and risky. Our reporters constantly face life-threatening challenges, sometimes surviving ambushes, kidnap attempts and attacks by the whiskers as they travel and go into communities to get authentic and firsthand information. But we dare it every day, nonetheless, in order to keep you informed of the true situation of the victims, the trends in the conflicts and ultimately help in peace building processes. But these come at huge cost to us. We are therefore appealing to you to help our cause by donating to us through any of the following means. You can also donate working tools, which are even more primary to our work. We thank you sincerely as you help our cause.
