Boko Haram terrorists have abducted Bulama Mele, a traditional ruler in Konduga Thursday morning.

Mr. Mele is a representative of Zanna Abba Zannah Muazu Yale, the district head of the town.

YERWA EXPRESS NEWS learned that he was kidnapped at about 2:00 am in the morning.

Koduga Town is the headquarters of Koduga Local Government Area, located some 37 km away from Maiduguri, the state capital of Borno.

According to residents, the terrorists sneaked into the town and went straight to Mr. Mele's house, where they took him away.

Many of such targeted kidnaps were done by the group to either raise money or punish those who "offended" them, including those who give information to the military about their movements or publicly opposed them.

Appeal for support

Conflict Reporting is dangerous and risky. Our reporters constantly face life-threatening challenges, sometimes surviving ambushes, kidnap attempts and attacks by the whiskers as they travel and go into communities to get authentic and firsthand information. But we dare it every day, nonetheless, in order to keep you informed of the true situation of the victims, the trends in the conflicts and ultimately help in peace building processes. But these come at huge cost to us. We are therefore appealing to you to help our cause by donating to us through any of the following means.
