NDLEA arrests fake security men drugs in Yobe

National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has apprehended two fake security agents with 25 blocks of cannabis sativa and 1,598 bottles of codeine syrup in Yobe.

Mr. Femi Babafemi, director media and advocacy of the agency disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.

According to the statement, the two suspects, Akalonu Justin and Azimbi Festus were arrested while on their way from Onitsha and heading to Maiduguri, capital of Borno.

‘In Yobe, two fake security agents Akalonu Justin and Azimbi Festus who were coming from Onitsha and heading to Maiduguri, Borno State have been arrested with 25 blocks of cannabis sativa weighing 12.5kg and 1,598 bottles of codeine syrup weighing 159.8 liters,’ Babafemi said in the statement.

Brig. Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa (Retd), chairman of the agency has commended personnel in the state and in the country at large for their impressive seizures and arrests of number of suspects in the past weeks.

He also charged them to stay focused and intensify efforts to rid Nigeria of illicit drugs and substances.

In the statement, the agency also disclosed how it recovered 85kg of cannabis sativa last Thursday from the warehouse of a notorious drug dealer in Pawari area of Damaturu, capital of Yobe.
