At least 60 vigilantes, popularly known as ‘Yan Sa Kai’ were reportedly killed by bandits in Kebbi.
According to the BBC, they were killed in the morning hour of Monday.
It explained that the incident occurred after the local vigilantes launched an onslaught against the bandits in Zuru Local Government of the state.
The bandits who were on a revenge mission, were said to have hidden on trees along the road leading to their dens to attack the vigilantes.
It noted that the victims have already been buried together.
The Yan Sa Kai members hail from various towns and villages of the emirate as volunteers to complement the efforts of security operatives in tackling the terrorists’ activities in their areas.
