Army assures adequate security for UNIMAID

Maj. Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa, the Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai has assured the Ieadership of the University of Maiduguri of adequate security within the school and its environs.

He gave the assurance on Thursday when he paid a visit to Prof. Aliyu Shugaba, vice chancellor of the institution, at his office in the Muhammadu Buhari Senate Building.

According to him, the military will ensure that adequate security is maintained within the school in order to provide a safe learning atmosphere for students.

'The school has contributed a lot in the educational development of the active group of the society over the years and deserves to be acknowledged,' he added.

Prof. Shugaba expressed his appreciation to the commander for the selfless sacrifices and dedication of the troops of Operation Hadin Kai in the fight against insurgency.

He, in particular, thanked him for the improved security in the institution’s campus, which had experienced several breaches in the past. It had come under several suicide and gunfire attacks from the terrorists’ group.

At the university, the theatre commander also granted a special interview to 97.7 Kanem FM, which is owned by the school.

The military commander reeled out ongoing activities of the Nigerian military, their successes and areas where they need communal support.

He emphasized on information, which he said is key to finally ending the Boko Haram crisis.
