Taraba State Government has pledged to assist victims of bomb blast in the state.

The bomb blast occurred on Tuesday in Iware, a village of Ardo Kola Local Government Area of the state.

The incident is reported to have claimed many lives, with many also injured, who are already receiving treatment across healthcare centers in the state.

According to several reports, some of them with severe cases were admitted at Federal Medical Centre Jalingo and have called for government support.

In his reaction, Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku promised to assist them.

He said this while condemning the act, describing it as ‘barbaric, wicked and an act of unprovoked aggression against innocent people.’

Bala Dan Abu, spokesman of the governor who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday said the governor also told the security agencies not to rest on their oars pending when the perpetrators are brought to book.

‘Security agencies should go after the perpetrators of this heinous crime and should try and make them pay for their sins,’ the governor said.

He urged people of the state to always be vigilant and report strange visitors to their communities promptly.

Appeal for support

Conflict Reporting is dangerous and risky. Our reporters constantly face life-threatening challenges, sometimes surviving ambushes, kidnap attempts and attacks by the whiskers as they travel and go into communities to get authentic and firsthand information. But we dare it every day, nonetheless, in order to keep you informed of the true situation of the victims, the trends in the conflicts and ultimately help in peace building processes. But these come at huge cost to us. We are therefore appealing to you to help our cause by donating to us through any of the following means. You can also donate working tools, which are even more primary to our work. We thank you sincerely as you help our cause.
