JUST-IN: Troops rescue Adamawa, Gombe women abducted by BH

At least six hostages of Boko Haram / ISWAP terrorists have been rescued by troops of Multinational Joint Task Force in Borno.

Colonel Muhammad Dole, spokesman of the task force who disclosed this in a statement said the victims were rescued around Tunbun Fulani and Tunbun Rago in the Lake Chad axis.

The hostages managed to escape while troops engaged the terrorists in a gunbattle.

They are already under medical examination and care.

According to him, the rescued women have been moved to Maiduguri for further profiling and hand-over to civil authorities before they are rejoined with their families.

They hail from Adamawa, Borno, Gombe and Yobe states, and were kidnapped at different places between October 2020 and April 2021.

  1. Grace Daniel, 38, kidnapped at Mainok along Maiduguri Road December 18, 2020

  2. Susan Lazarus, 28, kidnapped at Kupre Hong LGA Adamawa April 9, 2021

  3. Jumai Inuwa, 42, kidnapped along Damaturu - Maiduguri highway on October 19, 2020

  4. Maria Adamu, 27, kidnapped at Gulak Adamawa State on December 6, 2020

  5. Martha Malu, 25, kidnapped at Damboa Road December 1, 2020

  6. Malakalya Dambade, 37, kidnapped at Mainok along Maiduguri highway on February 25, 2021
