APC primary: 7 aspirants step down for Tinubu as voting commences now

Seven presidential aspirants of the All Progressive Congress, APC have stepped down for Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, the former Governor of Lagos State to be the party's presidential flag bearer in the upcoming 2023 election.

They announced stepping down while delivering their speeches at the Eagle Square, Abuja, the venue of the party's presidential primary election.

They are Sen. Godswill Akpabio, Gov. Kayode Fayemi, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun and Dimeji Bankole.

Others are Gov. Abubakar Badaru, Ajayi Borriface and Barr. Uju Kennedy Ohannenye.

According to the aspirants, Tinubu will do the job well and they will support him to win the upcoming presidential election.

They described him as the best of the aspirants who can lead the party to victory in the 2023 election.

Dr. Nicholas Felix who is also an aspirant, stepped down for Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Vice President of Nigeria.

Twenty-three aspirants were secreened for the party's primary election.

One withdraw his intention a day to the election.
