Families of 43 deceased police officers receive IGP’s N92m largesse

The Kaduna State Command of the Nigerian Police Force has awarded N92 million to the families of deceased police officers.

This was disclosed in a statement by DSP Muhammed Jalige, the spokesman of the area command.

According to Jalige, the cheque was presented by CP Yekini A. Ayoku, the state commissioner of police, on behalf of Alkali Baba Usman, the inspector general of police on Wednesday at the command headquarters, in Kaduna.

He explained that the amount will be shared across the families of 43 officers who died in active service.

He furthermore noted that the intervention is part of Group Life Assurance Scheme established by the IGP

'The presentation of the cheques is part of the IGP’s Group Life Assurance Scheme for the year 2020/2021, being given to the families of the deceased Police Officers. The program which took place at the Command headquarters, Kaduna was witnessed by members of the command's management team and other relatives/guardian of the beneficiaries.

'The Commissioner of Police, while presenting the cheques, appreciates the efforts of the Inspector-General of Police, for improving the welfare of the officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force and urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money for their betterment.’

One of the beneficiaries, who spoke on behalf of all the benefiting families, thanked the IGP for the welfare package and promised to use the money judiciously.
