Police parades 67 criminals over rape, fraud, other crimes in Borno

The Borno State Police Command has paraded 67 suspects who were allegedly involved in committing various crimes in the state, including rape and robbery.  

They were also caught in possession of dangerous weapons and drugs, among others.  

CP Abdu Umar, the state commissioner of Police, represented by Kamilu Muhammad, the police spokesman in his briefing on Friday said the suspects will be investigated and charged to court.    

He said the arrests were part of the command’s commitment to ensure that the state is not a safe haven for criminals and unscrupulous elements.  

He explained that the commitment has so far reduced crime to the nearest minimum and it has continued to yield remarkable results.  

  YERWA EXPRESS NEWS learned that of the 67, 30 suspects were paraded for causing grievous infliction of injuries to others using dangerous weapons.  

While 22 were paraded for being in possession of drugs, suspected to be Indian hemp, 11 for alleged crime of robbery, two in possession of prohibited fire arms, (ammunition) and two also for alleged fraud and rape respectively.
