Senatorial candidate pledges to partner agencies on ecological issue

Chief Mike Nwachukwu, the Accord Party senatorial candidate for Imo East on Wednesday pledged to engage Ecological Project Office and Federal Ministry of Environment to tackle ecological problems in the area.

Nwachukwu said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.

The senatorial candidate said if elected he would also engage Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP) to address erosion and environmental challenges in Imo East Senatorial District (Owerri Zone).

He affirmed his commitment to addressing the deplorable state of roads in the zone (Imo East) if elected senator in 2023.

“These are worst forms of ecological and environmental disaster and they require urgent and robust intervention from Ecological Projects Office “I will also partner the Federal Ministry of Environment and appropriate agencies such as the World Bank, and Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP).

“This requires a very robust and constructive engagement of these agencies. “This robust engagement is what I will bring to the table for Owerri Zone if elected into the senate”, he said.

The senatorial candidate, who called on Nigerians to vote wisely, said it was time to jettison ethnic and religious divisions.

He advised the electorate to resist vote buying and other forms of financial inducement in order not to compromise their future.

Nwachukwu expressed his willingness deliver credible representation to Imo East people through massive collaboration with relevant agencies to attract government presence to the zone.

He called on the appropriate Federal Government agencies and departments to process of take swift action to address the ecological and environmental problems prevalent Imo East Senatorial District.
