Troops of Nigerian Army in collaboration with Civilian Joint Task Force have killed an undisclosed number of Boko Haram terrorists in Gaftari and Sheruri.

Gaftari and Sheruri are villages located along Bama and Konduga Local governments, some 68 kilometres from Maiduguri, the Borno State Capital.

A security source who participated in the operation said the operation was carried out Friday morning by troops of the Nigerian Army and members of the Civilian JTF.

'An unidentified number of the terrorists have been killed,' the source said.

However, another source told our correspondent in Maiduguri that 17 of them were neutralized.

Two were dreaded commanders, Abu Hauwa and Shettima.

In another encounter on Wednesday, the troops, also in collaboration with CJTF, killed six of the terrorists in Malikri and Tamsu Ngamduwa, villages located along the same axis.
