Just as voters are exercising their right franchise, Gomboru Market, another major market in Maiduguri has been gutted by massive inferno.
This is coming hours after another market in Biu Local Government Area of the state was razed down by fire.
According to our reporter, who is at the scene, the fire started thid afternoon.
He reported that the inferno affected major parts of the market.
However, this paper can confirm that fire service operatives are already at the scene trying to put out the fire.
With heavy security already on ground, marketers are seen storming into the market to evacuate their shops' stalls and other belongings.
There is as yet no clear information on what may have caused the outbreak at the time of filing this report.
This is the second fire incident in a market in Maiduguri in three weeks, both of which are major markets.
Gomboru Market is the second largest market in the state capital, following Monday Market.
Monday Market was razed down on February 26, a day after the presidential election.

Conflict Reporting is dangerous and risky. Our reporters constantly face life-threatening challenges, sometimes surviving ambushes, kidnap attempts and attacks by the whiskers as they travel and go into communities to get authentic and firsthand information. But we dare it every day, nonetheless, in order to keep you informed of the true situation of the victims, the trends in the conflicts and ultimately help in peace building processes. But these come at huge cost to us. We are therefore appealing to you to help our cause by donating to us through any of the following means. You can also donate working tools, which are even more primary to our work. We thank you sincerely as you help our cause.
