He added that they usually sell the stolen items also known as ‘Ajakouta’, an exercise the government of the state has placed a total ban on.
Governor Babagana Zulum, using his executive powers placed the ban after his visit to Bulumkutu where government properties were moved to after theft and sold to metal scavengers.
Daso said in respect to the ban by the Governor, the police has intercepted four trailers and one pickup van loaded with vandalised metals.
He said the intercepted vehicles were loaded with items including unbundled cars, tricyicles, iron and other stolen items.
He said the suspects were charged to court for onward prosecution.

Our reporters constantly face life-threatening challenges, sometimes surviving ambushes, kidnap attempts and attacks by the whiskers as they travel and go into communities to get authentic and firsthand information. But we dare it every day, nonetheless, in order to keep you informed of the true situation of the victims, the trends in the conflicts and ultimately help in peace building processes. But these come at huge cost to us. We are therefore appealing to you to help our cause by donating to us through any of the following means.
