The Borno State Contributory Health Care Management Agency, BOSCHMA has conducted a road walk campaign to sensitize public on the mandate and activities of the agency.
Led by Dr. Saleh Abba Kaza, executive secretary of the agency, on Friday , the road walk began at the agency's head office along Lagos Street to Monday Market. It was tarminated at the Musa Usman Secretriet along Post Office — all within Maiduguri, the capital of the state.
BOSCHMA was established in 2019 to improve access to healthcare services among civil servants and vulnerable people in the state. However, knowledge about the agency and what it does has remained limited among the public, the agency believes.
According to Dr. Kaza, the road walk sensitization campaign was aimed at creating awareness and publicizing the activities of the agency to the residents of the state.
He explained that the campaign marked the end of the 'BOSCHMA financing healthcare week' which started since January 15, 2024.
The 11 - day event was also characterized by review of the agency’s achievement and way forward, a stakeholders’ meeting and football competition between agencies and departments of the state ministry of health, including the BOSCHMA, as well as dinner.
Conflict Reporting is dangerous and risky. Our reporters constantly face life-threatening challenges, sometimes surviving ambushes, kidnap attempts and attacks by the whiskers as they travel and go into communities to get authentic and firsthand information. But we dare it every day, nonetheless, in order to keep you informed of the true situation of the victims, the trends in the conflicts and ultimately help in peace building processes. But these come at huge cost to us. We are therefore appealing to you to help our cause by donating to us through any of the following means. You can also donate working tools, which are even more primary to our work. We thank you sincerely as you help our cause.
