A bridge along the Savannah to Lafiya route, connecting Adamawa and Gombe states, collapsed on Thursday afternoon, leaving thousands of motorists stranded.

The cause of the collapse remains unclear, but efforts are underway to provide a temporary solution to restore accessibility.

Our correspondent, reporting live from the scene, confirmed that a makeshift repair is being constructed to enable temporary passage.

Buba, a stranded motorist from Maiduguri, shared his ordeal: 'I was en route to visit my mother in Yola when this incident occurred. We're now waiting for the temporary solution to be completed.'

This incident comes on the heels of a similar bridge collapse linking Adamawa and Borno states just a few weeks ago, raising concerns about the condition of critical infrastructure in the region.

The breakdown has resulted in significant disruptions to transportation and economic activities, affecting travelers and traders alike.

Authorities have yet to comment on the cause of the collapse or provide a timeline for permanent repairs.

The situation remains fluid, with motorists advised to seek alternative routes until further notice.

But these come at huge cost to us. We are therefore appealing to you to help our cause by donating to us through any of the following means.
