In response to the recent devastating floods that have plagued Maiduguri, the Shehuri North Flood Victims Support Initiative has launched its fifth intervention today, aimed at providing essential relief to those affected.

Led by Digma Zubairu and a team from Shehuri North I, the initiative has already made a significant impact by reaching approximately 9000 individuals who were severely affected by the natural disaster.

Today's efforts mark a continuation of their commitment to alleviating the suffering of families and individuals grappling with the aftermath of the floods.

'We understand the urgency of the situation and the critical need for support,' stated Digma Zubairu during the relief distribution event.

'Today, we are distributing materials such as bags of cement, sharp sand, and a token of N5000 for labor, directly benefiting those in need.'

The initiative appeals to the generosity of the public and organizations alike, urging them to contribute to their cause through donations or partnerships.

A dedicated emergency account has been established to facilitate financial contributions:

  • Account Name: Abubakar Abba Yusuf and Fati Imam Alkali
  • Account Number: 6052819563
  • Bank Name: Fidelity Bank, Maiduguri

'These contributions are crucial in enabling us to sustain and expand our relief efforts,' Zubairu emphasized.

'Every donation, no matter the size, will make a significant difference in rebuilding the lives of our fellow community members affected by this disaster.'

The Shehuri North Flood Victims Support Initiative remains steadfast in its mission to provide ongoing assistance to the flood victims, demonstrating resilience and unity in the face of adversity.

Appeal for support

Conflict Reporting is dangerous and risky. Our reporters constantly face life-threatening challenges, sometimes surviving ambushes, kidnap attempts and attacks by the whiskers as they travel and go into communities to get authentic and firsthand information. But we dare it every day, nonetheless, in order to keep you informed of the true situation of the victims, the trends in the conflicts and ultimately help in peace building processes. But these come at huge cost to us. We are therefore appealing to you to help our cause by donating to us through any of the following means. You can also donate working tools, which are even more primary to our work. We thank you sincerely as you help our cause.
