The Borno State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (BOSCHMA) has recognized and awarded three Primary Healthcare facilities in Borno State for their exceptional performance in delivering healthcare services.
These three best-performing primary healthcare and maternal child health facilities were selected from the central, northern, and southern parts of the state, and were presented with awards and certificates during the 2024 Annual Performance Review Meeting organized by the agency.
Dr. Saleh Abba, the Executive Secretary of BOSCHMA, emphasized that it is the agency's culture to acknowledge and reward outstanding performance among healthcare providers who demonstrate dedication and excellence in their duties.
Permanent Secretary Dr. Mohammed Ghuluze, the chairman of the occasion, who was recently appointed the head of service, presented the award certificates to the beneficiaries and congratulated them on their achievement, encouraging them to continue providing high-quality services.
The agency also presented certificates and a cash donation to outstanding staff members, including the best senior staff of the year, team player of the year, most innovative and creative, best performing department, and best junior staff of the year.
The winners included Usman Medala, director of planning, who was named the best senior staff of the year, and Zarah Aji Kolo, information officer, who was recognized as the team player of the year.
Mustapha Mohammed, head of IT, was awarded the most innovative and creative staff of the year, while Dr. Inna Alimi, director of standard quality assurance, was recognized for leading the best performing department.
Babagana Mohammed was named the best junior staff of the year, and each of the five winners received a certificate and a cheque for N50,000.
In an interview with YERWA EXPRESS NEWS, the beneficiaries attributed their success to hard work and determination, with Mr. Mohammed noting that the agency's digitization of processes was a key factor in his award.
Dr. Alimi explained that the best healthcare facilities were selected after a visitation for quality assurance, which identified improvements and challenges, and commended the facilities for their punctuality and commitment to providing quality services.
