Major General Ibrahim Ali, Force Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), has inducted new Military Staff Officers (MSOs) into the Headquarters MNJTF.
Olaniyi Osoba, spokesperson of the MNJTF, in a statement on Wednesday said, the force commander charged the newly inducted officers to remain steadfast and dedicated to the mission's principles.
According to him, the induction ceremony marks the beginning of their journey within MNJTF and the continuation of a legacy built on dedication, honor, and commitment to the mandate.
The force commander further emphasized the unity and common purpose that bind the MNJTF family together, stating: 'We are united by a common goal – to ensure that peace and security return to the fringes of Lake Chad.'
He encouraged the new officers to embody the values of courage, loyalty, and respect, emphasizing their pivotal role in shaping the future of MNJTF.
The new MSOs, a diverse coalition of officers from Cameroon, Chad, Nigeria, Niger, and the Republic of Benin, bring a wealth of skills and a shared sense of purpose.
They will serve a one-year tour of duty, representing their nations with pride and determination.
The induction course will equip the officers with comprehensive training, covering topics from the history and mandate of MNJTF to customs, ethics, and traditions of the region.
'The induction of these new officers signifies a significant milestone in MNJTF's ongoing mission to bring stability to the Lake Chad region, reinforcing the force's commitment to its mandate and values,' he said.
Major General Ali expressed confidence in the new MSOs' ability and unity as a team, stating, 'I am confident that you will rise to the occasion and surpass expectations. Together, we will uphold the honor of our force and ensure the safety and security of those we serve.'
