Yerwa Express News is a Nigerian newspaper with headquarters in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State. It was founded in October, 2016. It is registered with the Nigerian government to gather, process and disseminate information. Essentially, the newspaper was set to help with more positive information about Borno State and the North East of Nigeria where Boko Haram crisis and violence has taken over the narrative about the region. It also tries to help countering the extremist narratives of the terrorist group and help peace journalism Currently, the editor-in-chief of the paper is Abdulhamid Al-Gazali, who is also a journalist hailing from Borno. He is also one of the founders of the paper.
