Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, Governor of Borno State, has said that his administration has released N22 billion as its contribution to the reconstruction and rehabilitation of public infrastructure damaged by the September 10 flood.

The governor disclosed this today while presenting proposals of 2025 budget to the Borno State House of Assembly for approval.

He said the money was released to the committee of the Maiduguri Flood Disaster Fund.

He said the flood disaster has left behind a devastating effect on the people of the state because of the colossal damage to lives and properties, as well as public infrastructure.

'Government had put in place a robust mechanism that would ensure return to normalcy through the provision of humanitarian support to victims,' he said.

He said the money was released to assist in rebuilding the victim's homes, places of businesses and other public infrastructure.

'Mr. Speaker, to this effect, the government, as of today, has released the sum of twenty two billion Naira only (N22,000,000,000.00) as the state government's contribution to the Maiduguri Flood Disaster Fund for victim support and reconstruction and rehabilitation of public infrastructure damaged by the flood.'

The governor presented a total budget of N584, 757, 725, 000 for the 2025 fiscal year.

This allocation comprises N380,837,201,000 for capital expenditure and N203,920,524,000 for recurrent expenditure.
