Suspected Boko Haram terrorists have killed one vigilante hunter in an attack on Dalori town in Borno State.

The terrorists who stormed the town Saturday night around 9:40 pm with motorbikes engaged a formation of vigilante hunters in a gun battle.

A hunter from the village who preferred not to be named because he was not authorised to speak to the press told our reporter that the terrorists killed one hunter while one sustained injuries.

'They came with undisclosed motorbikes and left them outside the town and snicked in with firearms, killing one of our hunter and injuring one,’ the source said.

He added they also burnt two vehicles belonging to the hunters and ran away with one vehicle.

'The security operatives have to improve their patrol, especially during this Christmas and the new year preparation, as hunters, we will not relent on our patrol during and after the festivity,' he said.

Appeal for support

Conflict Reporting is dangerous and risky. Our reporters constantly face life-threatening challenges, sometimes surviving ambushes, kidnap attempts and attacks by the whiskers as they travel and go into communities to get authentic and firsthand information. But we dare it every day, nonetheless, in order to keep you informed of the true situation of the victims, the trends in the conflicts and ultimately help in peace building processes. But these come at huge cost to us. We are therefore appealing to you to help our cause by donating to us through any of the following means.
