Troops arrest suspected Bello Turji's accomplice, recover ammunition

Troops of one Brigade, Sector 2 Operation Fansan Yamma of the Nigerian Army have arrested a 25-year-old female in possession of firearms to be delivered to Bello Turji, a bandit kingpin in Zamfa state.

Shamsiyya Ahadu was found in possession of 764 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and 6 magazines meant to be delivered to Turji's camp. enter image description here In a press statement issued on Saturday Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, media coordinator of the operation said she was arrested alongside her accomplice, a motorcycle rider Ahmed Husaini in Badarawa area of Shinkafi Local Government Area of the State.

He said the arrest was made following an intelligence report regarding the movement of the terrorists' logistics along the road from Kware to Badarawa in the LG. enter image description here 'In response to the development, troops of Operation Fansan Yamma prompty established a roadblock leading to the apprehension of the suspects.'

He said the suspects are currently undergoing investigation by appropriate authorities, while Operation Fansan Yamma remains dedicated to dismantling all terrorist networks as well as prevent illegal movement of arms and ammunition within its theatre of operation.

'Members of the public are therefore urged not to relent in their efforts at providing credible information that would lead to the arrest of wanted terrorists and their collaborators.

'Additionally, the Theatre wishes to appreciate the sustained local support it is enjoying from the people of the Zone towards the fulfilment of Operation Fansan Yamma mandate,' the statement added.
