The Nigerian Chief of Defence Staff is visiting Maiduguri, the capital of Borno, today.
According to Captain Reuben Kovangiya, the spokesperson for Operation Hadin Kai, the counter-insurgency operation in the North East of Nigeria, the CDS will be accompanied by senior officers from Defence and Services Headquarters.
'The CDS, General CG Musa, will be visiting Headquarters Theatre Command today, May 15, 2025, at 9:30 am prompt. He will be accompanied by senior officers from Defence and Services Headquarters,' Captain Kovangiya said while inviting journalists to the event.
The reason for the visit was not disclosed; however, it may be connected to the resurgence of attacks by insurgents across the state.
Last Tuesday, insurgents attacked four military bases in the state, raising fear among residents.
