At least 350 Boko Haram/ ISWAP fighters and commanders were executed during Eid Al-Adha.

Eid-ul-Adha is a Muslim festival observed worldwide with a morning prayer and followed by sacrifice, which this year held June 06.

The terrorists who were gathered to observe the morning prayers near Chiralia close to Agigum villages in Damboa Local Government of Borno were bombarded by the Super Tucano aircraft of the Nigerian Air Force.

A source who participated in damage assessment and asked not to be named because he was not authorised to speak said that after the bombardment, they discovered dead bodies of the terrorists including two commanders.

'They were assembled to observe the two Rakat prayers, and all of a sudden, the Super Tucano Jet of the Nigerian airforce appeared and opened fire on them.'

He said that while residents embarked on assessing the damage, 'We found out that Abu Dauda and Ya Muhammad were also executed,' the source said.

The Nigerian Air Force, in a press statement on Monday, also said that an operation conducted by Operation Hadin Kai destroyed a Boko Haram/ ISWAP training ground in the Lake Chad region.

The facility was destroyed in an air interdiction mission targeting a major terrorist enclave in Bukar Meram on the southern flank of the Lake Chad region near Marte and separately in Damboa.

It said several Boko Haram /ISWAP terrorists were neutralized, including the destruction of key logistics infrastructure, including supply vehicles, weapons storage sites, and makeshift shelters.

Conflict Reporting is dangerous and risky. Our reporters constantly face life-threatening challenges, sometimes surviving ambushes, kidnap attempts and attacks by the whiskers as they travel and go into communities to get authentic and firsthand information. But we dare it every day, nonetheless, in order to keep you informed of the true situation of the victims, the trends in the conflicts and ultimately help in peace building processes. But these come at huge cost to us. We are therefore appealing to you to help our cause by donating to us through any of the following means.
