The Nigerian military in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force, Hybrid Forces and vigilante groups have repelled Boko Haram terrorists' attack in Ngom, Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State.
According to a source who participated in the operation told our reporter that the terrorists, eight in number, launched the attack on Friday morning around 10:00 a.m., along Limanti close to Ngom in the Mafa axis.
'They appeared with eight motorcycles carrying sophisticated weapons and shooting sporadically. We resisted and responded. We chased them back to Gazuwa where they usually coordinated their attacks.
'Unfortunately, on their way, they stopped a private car and abducted four people,' the source said.
It was reported by this paper how the terrorists ambushed a convoy of the Nigeria Army’s commanding officer the same day after his clearance operation in the Gazuwa axis.
The ambush resulted in the killing of the officer, six soldiers, two CJTF and two Vigilante members.
Conflict Reporting is dangerous and risky. Our reporters constantly face life-threatening challenges, sometimes surviving ambushes, kidnap attempts and attacks by the whiskers as they travel and go into communities to get authentic and firsthand information. But we dare it every day, nonetheless, in order to keep you informed of the true situation of the victims, the trends in the conflicts and ultimately help in peace building processes. But these come at huge cost to us. We are therefore appealing to you to help our cause by donating to us through any of the following means. You can also donate working tools, which are even more primary to our work. We thank you sincerely as you help our cause.
