The Nigerian Air Force has carried out a precision strike on a terrorist base in the Sambisa area.
The operation took place on November 19, at a location identified as Arra.
The strike followed the October 17 ambush on troops at Kashomri.
The Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai conducted the mission under the directive of the chief of the air staff.
Intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance flights tracked movements around Kashomri and Sambisa before the strike.
The flights confirmed active terrorist structures at Arra.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, director of public relations and information, said the goal was to disrupt terrorist activity and weaken their operations.
'NAF air assets acquired and engaged designated objectives through coordinated, successive passes,' he said.
The airstrike destroyed all identified targets.
The Nigerian Air Force said the mission dealt a major blow to the group’s operations.
The Nigerian Air Force also said it remains committed to protecting the country and maintaining pressure on terrorist networks.
Conflict Reporting is dangerous and risky. Our reporters constantly face life-threatening challenges, sometimes surviving ambushes, kidnap attempts and attacks by the whiskers as they travel and go into communities to get authentic and firsthand information. But we dare it every day, nonetheless, in order to keep you informed of the true situation of the victims, the trends in the conflicts and ultimately help in peace building processes. But these come at huge cost to us. We are therefore appealing to you to help our cause by donating to us through any of the following means. You can also donate working tools, which are even more primary to our work. We thank you sincerely as you help our cause.
