There are reports of a security incident in Konduga Local Government Area, with residents saying they heard gunshots from several directions across parts of the area on Thursday.
Konduga is located about 35 kilometers from Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State.
Residents who spoke to our correspondents via telephone confirmed that gunshots were heard in multiple locations within the local government area, sparking fear among communities.
Some residents said the sounds of gunfire could be heard intermittently from different directions, although the exact source and circumstances of the shooting remain unclear at the time of filing this report.
